FIRE RISK ASSESSMENTS AND FIRE ALARM SYSTEM MAINTENANCEBusiness premises must have in place a current Fire Risk Assessment, comply with any recommendations contained within it, and ensure that their fire alarm system installation and maintenance complies with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and BS5839 pt1 2013.
Must be suitable for the type of fire they might be used to extinguish.
BS5306-3: 2017 states that they should be serviced annually by a competent person.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places a duty of care on the duty holder to ensure fire doors are maintained in a safe condition. Fire doors should be maintained as a minimum at 6 monthly frequency, or 3 monthly if usage is heavy.
GAS FIRED HEATING AND CATERING EQUIPMENT
Business premises must have in place a current Landlords Gas Safety Certificate. Any works carried out to gas fired plant or associated pipework and systems must comply with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.
Companies carrying out works to gas fired plant on your behalf must hold current Gas Safe registration, and their employees or contractors, registered for the category of works they are carrying out.
